Edinburgh ice cream shop Luca's to close both stores until further notice amid new lockdown rules

S. Luca have announced they will be closing until further notice due to Scotland's latest lockdown rules.

The popular ice cream shop, who have cafes in both Morningside and Musselburgh, have made the decision to close as restrictions remain tight in Edinburgh.

In a post online, Luca's thanked customers who had supported them through the winter months, but added that they will be shutting due to the new guidelines.

From today (Saturday), takeaway services must be operated out of a doorway or hatch, with customers no longer allowed to enter the building.

Speaking about their decision on Instagram, Luca's said:

"Thank you to all our customers who have come into our shops over the last few weeks. . . Although we made a lot of changes to make it safe for you, due to new guidelines we must close until further notice."

Despite shutting their shops, they reminded customers that their ice cream can still be purchased online.

The post added: "But don’t cry, you can get all your favourite ice cream, chocolates and snowballs online. Simply log on to www.lucasicecreamshop.co.uk and have it delivered to your door contact free.

"As before we have set delivery days for your areas but we will be going further afield this time around. Watch this space."
