Edinburgh has placed 19th in the UK for properties selling for more than £1million.
The latest research by Property Solvers has revealed that there were 259 residential home sales with a value of over £1 million pounds across the Edinburgh postcodes from September 2021 up to September 2022. By using HM Land Registry sold house price statistics, the reported total value of the sales across the board reached an astonishing £370.18 million.

This was an increase of seven per cent from the same period in 202-21, where £344.83 million sales were reported. In terms of number of properties sold, this puts Edinburgh in position number 19 across England, Wales and Scotland - above Brighton and below Chelmsford.
The top ten properties across Edinburgh that were sold for the highest price include:
- Heriot Row, Edinburgh, EH3 6ES - £4 million
- Hermitage Drive, Edinburgh EH10 6BY - £4 million
- Hermitage Drive, Edinburgh EH10 6BZ - £3.5 million
- West Coates, Edinburgh EH12 5JG - £3 million
- Atholl Crescent, Edinburgh EH3 8HA - £2.99 million
- Flat 66, Donaldson Drive, Edinburgh EH12 5FS - £2.9 million
- Ann Street, Edinburgh EH4 1PL - £2.75 million
- West Links Road, Gullane, East Lothian EH31 2BB - £2.65 million
- Lynedoch Place, Edinburgh EH3 7PY - £2.6 million
- Hermitage Drive, Edinburgh EH10 6DA - £2.52 million
Speaking on the data, co-founder Ruban Selvanayagam said: “Although there remains a fairly healthy volume of sales in this price bracket, evidence from around the country would suggest that buyer appetite for these types of homes has started to drop in recent months.”
“£1 million+ properties - even for the wealthy - are major commitment and indeed affected by the wider economy."
