An Edinburgh city centre hotel is to stage a special wedding ceremony for two loved up dogs – and we're not even joking.
SKYbar at DoubleTree by Hilton will welcome a cosy canine couple to the venue on Sunday, 23 February for its annual Wedding Showcase event – but they need the help of the public in choosing the pair.
Those at the hotel are urging people to submit their very own hounds of love by posting an image of two loved up pets together in the comments section of their 'comPawtition time' social media post.
Members of the public will then be able to vote for which couple they'd like to be pronounced Doberman and wife, and the winner will be announced next Friday (13 December).
The winning couple will be treated to a full wedding treatment and will be able to celebrate their love at SKYbar against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle.
There will even be an engagement photoshoot at the hotel on Thursday 19 December before the four-legged sweethearts walk down the aisle next year.
Marcello Ventisei, General Manager of DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh City Centre, said: “We’ve catered for a wide variety of weddings here in Edinburgh and we’ve seen many couples involve their pets in their special days, but we’re now putting the spotlight on man’s best friend.
“While it won’t be legally binding, we want to celebrate the love between two special pups and the photoshoot images will be used at our wedding showcase next year. As ever, we’re pulling out all the stops and we can’t wait to see the entries flooding in for a Christmas proposal like no other.”
