Edinburgh Hotel to launch perfect pet friendly Christmas stay for you and your pooch

A luxury hotel in Edinburgh is inviting guests - and their pets - to enjoy a festive stay this Christmas, all while helping to raise funds for a local Dog and Cat home.

Kimpton Charlotte Square has created the 'PAWfect' package for pet lovers this December and to celebrate, a donation of £5 from every PAWfect stay will go to Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home.

The Kimpton team say that any good boys or good girls can enjoy Pawsecco on arrival, a specially made nutritionally balanced festive feast and stocking filler treats from Santa Paws.

They added that the popular boutique hotel located in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town, welcomes all furry, feathery or scaley friends (with the only caveat being that they can fit in the lifts).

The hotel offers a year-round PAWfect Stay Package which can be added onto guest bookings to make sure pets have everything they need for their holiday, including a comfy bed to sleep on, treats and a stylish copper bowl.

The good news that anyone taking up the offer will be helping the local Dog and Cat Home.

Since 1883, their chosen charity have been working tirelessly to rescue, reunite and rehome abandoned, lost and stray dogs and cats from all corners of Edinburgh and the East of Scotland.

The Home receives no regular government funding and relies on the generous support of the public, companies and charitable trusts to fund its work to bring unwanted pets closer to their second chance at happiness.

General Manager of Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel, Kieran Quinn, said: “Pets really are part of the family here at Kimpton Charlotte Square. As a dog owner myself, I know how important it is that your pet is happy and settled during a holiday, which is why we go above and beyond to make sure they feel extra welcome with everything they need for an enjoyable time away from home, especially during the festivities.

"As we all know, a dog, cat, parrot or even an alpaca is for life and not just for Christmas, which is why we’re delighted to be donating £5 from every PAWfect Stay Package to Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home throughout the month of December.

"It’s a wonderful local charity and this is just a small way of saying thanks for everything they’ve done for the amazing cats and dogs of Edinburgh.”

Katie Kennedy of the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home added: "Everyone at the Home, including our furry friends, are so grateful of the support from Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel. Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home is the vital lifeline throughout East and Central Scotland for dogs, cats and their owners in their greatest time of need.

"As well as rescuing, reuniting and rehoming stray or abandoned pets, we support the community with our pet food bank service Paws Pantry and strive to educate the public about responsible pet ownership through talks, workshops, training, and events.

"It costs around £2 million every year to run Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home’s essential services, so thank you so much to everyone at Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel and everyone that purchases a PAWfect stay in support of our mission.”
