Edinburgh Holyrood Park roads open to cars for just 45 minutes a day this winter

Holyrood Park have announced they will be making some changes to their road closures due to the changes in season.

As winter approaches, Historic Environment Scotland stated that drivers and other road users should be aware of the alterations in times that there will be access round the park.

In an updated schedule, HES confirmed that regarding their Saturday and Sunday road closures, all roads in the park would be closed, with this commencing from 8.15-9am.

However, from October, the roads will begin reopening from 3pm-3.45pm, which will allow a 45-minute slot for traffic.

In addition, the High Road and Dunsapie Loch Car Park will continue to be open to vehicles from Tuesday to Thursday, 9.30am to 3pm.

A one-way system is in place for cyclists.

At present, the Low Road between the Commonwealth Pool roundabout and Duddingston remains closed off, as further rock face assessments are carried out.

There is currently no reopening date set for the road.

With some further changes expected over winter, HES have advised those using both the park and the roads surrounding it to follow their social media for any immediate updates.
