Edinburgh Hollywood Burgers and Shakes plans to expand into neighbouring cafe

A vacant former internet cafe on Dalry Road is set to become part of Hollywood Burgers and Shakes if city council grants permission.

The local burger joint recently submitted a planning application to transform the space formerly known as an internet cafe into additional restaurant space and seating.

The application requires the council to change the status of the former cafe from a class 1 retail building into a class 3 for restaurant use.

Hollywood Burgers and Shakes submitted drawing plans alongside the application, which indicated that the two storefronts will be amalgamated and combined.

The entrance will remain at 111 Dalry Road, and the current cafe windows will be redesigned to provide plenty of light and street views from the new dining area inside. Unisex and accessible toilets will also be built in the back of the currently vacant building.

The plans also necessitate making a break in the wall between the two buildings to allow for free movement and use of the new space.

Hollywood Burgers and Shakes opened its doors on Dalry Road in early 2022. The company has another location in Manchester.

The company’s motto is: “Capturing the flavours of food and the senses of the silver screen from the showbiz capital of the world. Combining the love of film and food to produce picture perfect memories,”

They serve up a variety of burgers, shakes, waffles and other Hollywood inspired treats.
