Edinburgh has been named the UK's top restaurant city after London

Edinburgh has been named the UK's top restaurant city after London.

An annual survey was carried out by Harden's to find out the top 100 best UK restaurants for 2020.

These results were derived from over 50,000 reports with ratings submitted by 7,500 diners who helped to contribute to the survey results overall.

21212 restaurant at Royal Terrace, Number One restaurant at The Balmoral Hotel and Martin Wishart restaurant in Leith were the three top places to eat which made it into the top 100, coming in at 60, 75 and 31 respectively.

Coming in at first is Fraiche in Oxton where Marc Wilkinson is the head chef.

Other Scottish winners who ranked included the Andrew Fairlie restaurant at Gleneagles Hotel in Auchterarder, coming in at 28.
