Edinburgh Harvey Nichols store to unveil new Christmas window display next week

Luxury retailer Harvey Nichols will officially unveil their brand new Christmas display in Edinburgh next week - and it's one full of colour and light for 2021.

After declaring a collective ‘bah, humbug’ to Christmas last year, the new 2021 campaign for the store offers a different sentiment that’s designed to spread joy and happiness with bright colours and beaming lights.

Transforming the facade for the festive season, this year the iconic department store windows feature modern stained glass panels, flooded with light to reflect a glorious pattern of Christmas-coloured hues inside and outside the windows.

The festively vibrant window displays are adorned with glistening lights and hand painted baubles, and will be revealed early next week.

Each window features "different colours to evoke emotion," according to store bosses.

Yellow creates a sense of "energy and excitement," orange grabs attention with a "happy and uplifting effect", and blue projects feelings of "calmness and tranquillity" for those passing by.

A selection of luxury giftable items are showcased in the windows, from stocking fillers to the iconic Harvey Nichols hampers.

Head of Visual Display at Harvey Nichols, Janet Wardley, said: "We wanted to create something that would bring a smile to customers' faces, and what better way to do that than with a bright mood enhancing coloured patterns that appear both inside and outside our stores.”
