Edinburgh Hamleys set to open with world famous toy store coming to the capital

World famous toy shop Hamleys is ready to open a new store in Edinburgh.

Hamleys previously had premises located within Jenners on Princes Street but it shut two years ago.

However, Edinburgh Live can reveal that the toy retailer currently has a range of jobs advertised at an unnamed location in Edinburgh.

They are looking for a new store manager, and senior and junior Hamleys Helper sales assistants.

Locals speculated online that the Edinburgh store might be one of those opening at St James Quarter on June 24, with the job applications for Hamleys in Edinburgh having an expiry date of June 4.

The multinational toy shop have 15 outlets in the United Kingdom, including one in Glasgow.

Hamleys was founded over 200 years ago, in 1760, and claim their London store is the largest toy shop in the world.

Hamleys currently has shops in 24 countries including China, India, Russia, South Africa and United Arab Emirates.

It comes as plans for a new health food restaurant were also announced.

Kauai has teased fans with hints at its new location - and eagle-eyed foodies have sussed it.

Just a stone's throw from Princes Street, the restaurant is taking over what was formerly Italian restaurant Martone at the top of Leith Street (although its official address is 1 Waterloo Place), bang opposite the new St James Quarter.
