Edinburgh GP's bicycle stolen as she visited elderly patient at home

An Edinburgh GP was shocked to find her bicycle had been stolen as she was visiting an elderly patient in her home.

Dr Jenny Bennison cycled over to see a patient who lives near Niddrie Marischal on Friday around lunchtime.

She locked up her bike on a fence outside and went in to spend around 20 minutes with the patient.

The black Merida hybrid bike was gone when she returned, meaning she had to take a bus back to the Niddrie Medical Practice.

The GP told us she was "shocked and angry" to find the bike had been stolen. Fortunately she had her medical bag with her in the patient's house so no equipment was lost.

Her GP's surgery has appealed for people to keep an eye out for the bike, which has a blue pannier on the side.

Niddrie Medical Practice posted on Facebook: "Have you seen this bike? One of GP doctors has had their bike stolen whilst visiting an elderly patient in the Niddrie Marischal area.

"If anyone has any information please contact Niddrie Medical Practice on 0131 652 2004. Thank you."
