From August 5, thousand of people have been descending onto Scottish soil and making their way to the capital.
This is set to continue for the next week with more eager tourists and locals eager to catch their favourite act at this years Fringe Festival. People have been delighted with the shows so far with thousand of videos being shared online with what being were seeing, doing and the places they were eating at in and around the capital.
However in much disappointment to those at the event, organisers of the Edinburgh International Festival have confirmed the traditional firework display to mark the end of the celebrations will not be going ahead this year. The BBC reported that the festival's reasoning for the decision was still down to the pandemic, with those in charge stating that 'planning times' were impacted leading up to the event.

A spokeswoman for the Edinburgh International Festival said: "We won't be staging the fireworks this year due to planning times coming out of the pandemic. However, we will still have a large-scale free event in Princes Street Gardens."

A dry evening with bright or clear spells. Turning increasingly cloudy from the west overnight with the chance of some patchy light rain by the early hours. Staying dry towards the east coast. Minimum temperature 12 °C.
Friday
Dry at first in east but outbreaks of rain in west spreading to all parts by early afternoon. Some heavy rain in places in the afternoon. Drier in west later. Maximum temperature 17 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday
Largely dry and bright Saturday but perhaps the odd shower. Dry with sunny spells on Sunday and Monday. Becoming cool along the east coast but quite warm in west.
