Edinburgh Forth Bridges caught in stunning snap as WWII Spitfire soars over the city

Edinburgh's three bridges have been caught posing for yet another beautiful photo - but this time from above.

The majestic structures are known for taking a good picture, but this latest snap was taken from none other than a WWII Spitfire plane.

Shot as it soared over the city, the picture managed to capture not only the iconic wing of the former military aircraft, but also the Forth Road Bridge, Rail Bridge and the Queensferry Crossing.

Taken on Monday morning (August 31), Spitfires.com were able to get a picture on a rare sunny day as they took some very lucky passengers on a tour over Scotland.

The flight school and passenger experience service had been based in Cumbernauld this week as they taught pilots how to fly the iconic fighter planes.

In addition, the company also are available to book for tours, with passengers able to buckle up at the airstrip before being flown over Edinburgh and up towards the Scottish Highlands.

Providing some breathtaking views, the organisers told Edinburgh Live they only tend to visit Scotland for their tours once a year, with this summer being their first visit north of the border since the coronavirus pandemic.

Unfortunately, the Spitfires last day in Scotland is on Friday (September 3r), so if you want to take off, you may have to wait until next year.
