Edinburgh Food Project URGENTLY need household products, including bin bags - can you help?

The Edinburgh Food Project has put out an urgent appeal for household products, including bin bags and kitchen roll - can you help?

The food bank organisation has supported over 42,000 people in the capital since opening in 2012.

The Edinburgh Food Project runs foodbanks in the North West, Centre and East of Edinburgh and can provide people in crisis with short-term emergency food parcels.

But they also provide essential household items and are in urgent need of donations for these items:

  • Washing up liquid
  • Bleach
  • Detergent
  • Washing up powder
  • Bin bags
  • Cloths
  • Kitchen roll

Earlier this month they also put out a special appeal for a number of food items, including: cold meat, such as tinned corned beef, cereal, soup and tinned vegetables.

The project depends on donations with over 90% of the food distributed in The Trussell Trust network come from public donations.

They operate seven food bank centres across Edinburgh, which are open 15 times a week and 21 food donation points across Edinburgh.

They also have permanent donation points at a number of supermarkets , including Marks and Spencer on Princes Street and Sainsbury's on Lothian Road.
