Video footage of a person sitting on a car roof to avoid the flood waters in Edinburgh has been viewed thousands of times.
The city was battered with heavy rain and flash floods earlier this afternoon, causing bus, train and tram disruption while a number of busy routes were badly affected.
Parts of Balerno and the Bankhead area were even cut-off at one point, with vehicles unable to get through the water which had built up.
Fire crews confirmed that they were in attendance at a number of incidents across the capital as a result of the bad weather.
While most people dealt with the storm by staying inside and not venturing too far, others weren't put off.
A video which shows a man sitting on his car roof, with his car apparently stuck in the water, has been seen by thousands of people.
And further footage of cars struggling along through deep flood water has also done the rounds online.
