Potholes are a common theme among newly reported problems on Guardian Edinburgh's Fix My Street pages.

The heaviest snowfall since the 1960s forced the City of Edinburgh Council to dig in to reserve funds to get roads and pavements cleared.

Now locals are reporting the damage left behind following the recent thaw.

Dan Frydman reported a "massive" hole in the road next to a bus stop outside Granton Parish Church.

A pothole at the west on-ramp of the Western Approach Road is around five inches deep according to this report by Susan Guest.

Broken road surfaces have also been reported in Milton Road West and Bruntsfield.

There is flooding from a blocked drain on Arboretum Road according to this report by John Edward.

Parts of the National Cycle Network through Edinburgh still have ice underfoot. This anonymous report on Fix My Street today claims there is "a real hazard to cyclists and pedestrians" using the route near Ravelston Dykes.

Yesterday Wendy Bickmore reported overflowing bins outside St Mary's primary school at Letih Links.

Robert McMillan reported that a bin lorry came a day early, leaving some locals with full bins because they weren't put out.

Today's Evening News reports some people are in their second month of waiting for rubbish to be collected.

Not all of Edinburgh's rubbish collections are back to normal yet. Answers to questions about bin collections can be found here on the City of Edinburgh website.

If you haven't used it yet, the Fix My Street section on this blog is a fast way to report something to the council. You can use the widget on the front page to find out about problems in your area by entering your postcode, which won't be used for anything else.

Powered by MySociety.org, all complaints are logged and tracked through to completion.
