Edinburgh film lovers brave rain to attend open-air cinema with stunning views

Edinburgh locals were seen braving the grey and drizzly skies on Saturday as they headed down to the Film Fest on the Forth.

A few showers were not enough to put the film lovers off, as they got comfortable in their iconic deck chairs to watch some classic feature films.

Running over the weekend, Port Edgar Marina is playing host to the festival, which has seen a huge open-air screen set up below the Forth Road Bridge.

As if the atmosphere wasn't enough, the screen is also angled to give stunning views behind it over to the Rail Bridge and beyond.

Speaking on social media on Saturday morning, the marina said the event was "off to a great start" with a showing of Disney musical Moana.

With all screenings completely free, the event has welcomed those of all ages to come down and experience the atmosphere, with films such as The Water Horse and The Illusionist still to be screened.

A series of food and drink is also available around the site, with iconic Queensferry restaurants such as Scott's and Down the Hatch just around the corner.

Running until the end of August 1, you can still reserve tickets for the remaining showings, which are running in partnership with the Edinburgh Film Festival.
