Pictures show the aftermath of suspected explosions at an Edinburgh shopping centre as fire fighters continue to work at the scene.
Blacked-out vehicles have been left in ruins following the blaze which erupted around 12pm this afternoon at the Westside Plaza shopping centre.
Images show fire crews continuing to tackle the incident which has left a van and two diggers destroyed.
We told earlier today of the huge fire which started at the centre in Wester Hailes.
Thick black smoke could be seen billowing into the sky and orange flames engulfing the vehicles.
Locals explained how they heard explosions after gas canisters allegedly blew up on the back of one of the vehicles.
Emergency services raced to the scene where they currently remain.
Edinburgh Travel tweeted: "Murrayburn Road is currently *CLOSED* between Hailesland Road and Westside Plaza due to an ongoing incident.
"Emergency services are in attendance."
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.02pm on Tuesday, May 18 to reports of vehicles on fire at the front of the Westside Plaza Shopping Centre, Edinburgh.
“Operations Control mobilised three appliances and firefighters are tackling a fire involving three commercial vehicles.
“Crews currently remain at the scene and there are no reported casualties.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 12.05pm to a report of a works vehicle on fire in Murrayburn Road, Edinburgh. Officers are currently in attendance along with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“There are no reports of injuries but a nearby library has been closed as a precaution and residents have been asked to keep their windows closed due to smoke.
“Murrayburn Road is closed in both directions and Hailesland Road Murrayburn Place are also closed. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.”
