Edinburgh emergency services rush to Leith Links after fire breaks out in the park

Fire crews were called to an incident at Leith Links in Edinburgh earlier this evening.

One fire appliance was seen at the scene, with four firefighters dealing with a blaze in the park.

An eyewitness told Edinburgh Live that two men could be seen next to a flaming object before emergency services arrived on the scene. Police were also in attendance.

The fire was said to have been put out shortly before 7pm.

The incident happened close to the junction between Duke Street, Easter Road and Vanburgh Place. Roads remained open throughout.

Police Scotland confirmed that they were called to assist, and advice was given.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for comment and for further information on this incident.
