A multi-vehicle collision in a busy Edinburgh city centre area has caused delays during rush hour on Wednesday evening.
Traffic is currently slow through The Meadows and the Marchmont area after a smash at the bottom of Melville Drive, at the junction onto The Meadows. Pictures from the scene show police and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) present in the busy park, with reports suggesting queues of traffic started building at around 6pm.
A police van is parked on the main road through The Meadows with a black Ford Fiesta appearing to have mounted the pedestrian pavement. A fire engine is also parked in the middle of the road with locals seen speaking to the emergency services.

Edinburgh Travel News also alerted motorists to the incident via Twitter.
A statement read:"Meadows/Melville Drive: It's very slow along Melville Drive both ways tonight. More so outbound from Leven Street/ King's Theatre. Hearing there has been a collision near to Marchmont Road."
It is currently unclear if there are any reported injuries related to the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.20pm on Wednesday, 14 September, 2022, officers were called to a report of a two vehicle crash on Melville Drive in Edinburgh.
“Emergency services attended but no-one was required to be taken to hospital.
“The road was closed to allow vehicle recovery to take place and fully reopened around 7.10pm.”
