Edinburgh emergency services race to Arthur's Seat as person found dead

There is currently a major emergency service presence at Arthur's Seat in what is being described as an ongoing incident after a body was found at Salisbury Crags.

Emergency services are currently in attendance at the popular beauty spot near Holyrood Park.

It has been reported by Police Scotland that officers found a body at Salisbury Crags but that there are no further details on the deceased at this time.

Images showing tens of emergency service vehicles lined up at the bottom of the hill are being circulated online.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At 1.20pm on Wednesday August 27, a body was found at Salisbury Crags, Queen's Drive, Edinburgh.

"Emergency services remain at the scene while enquiries are carried out."
