Edinburgh emergency services race to Arthur's Seat after person 'falls from Crags'

Police and the emergency services have raced to the foot of Arthur’s Seat this afternoon amid reports that a person has ‘fallen off.’

Ambulances have been spotted by a local rushing to a ridge below the Salisbury Crags.

Police told Edinburgh Live that they received a call out at around 12.20pm on Saturday 17 July over concern for a person who had fallen from Salisbury Crags.

The extent of the person's injuries is not yet known but the general public are being asked to avoid the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.20pm on Saturday, 17 July, we received a report of a concern for a person who had fallen from the Salisbury Crags in Edinburgh.

“Emergency services are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing. The public are asked to avoid the area.”
