Edinburgh drivers targeted by rock-hurling yobs on busy road as police scrambled

Police are currently making enquiries into several reports of youths pelting drivers with stones and vandalising a bus in the Broomhouse area.

The incident occurred on Broomhouse Road, outside the skatepark, on Wednesday evening and a victim of the needless attack reported the incident to the police.

A group of youths were seen throwing stones at cars and then lifting up the engine cover on a stationary bus, it is unclear if anyone was hurt during this incident.

One of the victims of the attack said the stones damaged her newly-bought car and her son, who was in the passenger seat, was terrified by the ordeal as one of the stones barely missed the passenger side window.

The witness also noted that another victim got out of their car and chased the group of youths, but returned five minutes later after being unable to track them down.

Police Scotland were made aware of this incident and a spokesperson said: "We received a report of vehicles being vandalised in the Broomhouse Road area of Edinburgh on Wednesday, 20 October, around 7.10pm. Officers attended but there was no trace of anyone. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
