Edinburgh driver caught out by police after officers spot small detail on car

An Edinburgh driver was caught out this week after police noticed a small detail on their car.

The motorist was pulled over by police on Old Dalkieth Road after officers spotted a missing number plate on the vehicle, however they were then discovered to have allegedly committed a number of further driving offences.

Issuing a warning on social media, Road Police in the area shared that they had been on patrol on Tuesday (August 23) when they noticed the small white Ford.

Seen with a missing number plate, the driver was pulled over, where a full inspection of the vehicle then took place.

On a closer look, the car was discovered to have no valid insurance, no valid MOT and no Vehicle Excise License.

In addition, the car also featured an insecure battery, as well as the cord being exposed on both of their rear tyres.

A tweet from Road Police said: "DunbarRP stopped this Ford on Old Dalkeith Road for having no rear number plate.

"Vehicle/driver had No insurance No MOT No VEL A defective handbrake No headlights An insecure battery Cord exposed on both rear tyres.

"Prohibition issued and vehicle seized Driver reported to @COPFS."
