Edinburgh Dome puts up iconic Christmas decorations in October with opinions divided

Edinburgh locals are divided as the Dome has installed its iconic Christmas decorations - in October.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the capital as the George street venue gets kitted out in their famous festive lights.

The building is one of Edinburgh’s most famous landmarks and known for its grand decorations.

The giant Corinthian columns are dressed in lavish sparkling lights each winter that look magnificent during the dark December nights.

Matched with a grand Christmas tree inside of the lavish dining area that dominates the interior.

The main pillars outside are covered in greenery with golden yellow and red lights spiralling down each of the six columns which makes the perfect festive backdrop.

The planters at the front are also covered in fairy lights, ready to twinkle as night falls.

It’s another week until Halloween and a whole month until the full Festive events and decorations kick off in the capital.

Some locals are delighted with the first signs of Christmas while others question if it's just too soon.

One user said: “It's not Christmas. It's October.”

Another agreed: “I love #Edinburgh but mate it's October…”

While others gushed: “Can we please go?!”

And one person added: “Might as well start now before @GOVUK try to cancel it again.”
