Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home launch urgent appeal for donations - here's how to help

Is your airing cupboard overflowing with old towels? Are you storing blankets that are a bit past it?

Whatever you do - don't toss them out!

Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home have asked the public in a post on Facebook to donate blankets and towels (which the home use as bedding for the animals) as they're running really low on stock.

The Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home also accept donations of shredded paper, which is a great alternative as bedding for pets who tear up blankets and beds.

They're specifically looking for long strip shreddings as opposed to cross-cut which gets caught in their drains.

Thanks to a partnership with City Cabs, they offer free uplift of household items for delivery to the charity’s two stores in Stockbridge and Morningside, as well as donations of towels, blankets, toys and treats for the animals at the Home’s shelter in Seafield.

The collections can be booked here.
