The Edinburgh Diwali Parade took place today starting at St Andrew’s Square and leading along George Street and through Princes Street to the Ross Band Stand in East Princes Street Gardens for fireworks and entertainment.
Diwali is an Indian Festival of Lights celebrated throughout the world by about 1.5 Billion people to ward off the darkness and welcome the light into our lives.
The Edinburgh celebrations held on Sunday November 21 consisted of a parade, a mix of Indian and Scottish music, dance, delicious food, fireworks and continued participation of the Scottish Regiment band.
Edinburgh Diwali has successfully organised Diwali for last five years and is now ambitiously attempting to enhance its Visibility across United Kingdom by making it Second Most Popular Festival after Christmas in Scotland as First Winter Festival of Edinburgh.
