Smoke can be seen billowing from Davidson’s Mains Primary School in the north of Edinburgh with emergency services in attendance.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at 12:20 this afternoon, Friday 27, and the school is understood to have been evacuated.
The fire is believed to be in the roof area of the building and there have been no reports of casualties at this time, the Edinburgh Evening News has revealed.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.21pm on Friday, August 27 to reports of a fire at a building on Corbiehill Road, Edinburgh.
“Operations Control mobilised two appliances and one height vehicle to the property which has been evacuated.
“Crews are still in attendance.”
Police officers are understood to be controlling traffic in the area.
