Edinburgh dad left 'hangry' after KFC serve up burger bun full of lettuce

A bemused Edinburgh diner joked he was left “hangry” by a Capital fast food restaurant after they delivered him a burger bun with no filling.

Paul Walker joked that he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when he opened the meal from the Fort Kinnaird branch of KFC at home to find he had received the vegan version of his tea rather than the zinger burger he originally ordered.

But the 37-year-old then burst into laughter when lifting up the top of the burger to reveal a pile of lettuce where the brand's iconic chicken fillet should have been.

He told Edinburgh Live: "It was a bit laughable.

"It turned up as a meat free one when it was supposed to be a zinger meal for a start, but then I opened it up and I just didn't know what to do except laugh and get hangry."

Staff later replaced the £7 football trilogy box meal, which also comes with a mini fillet, small box of popcorn chicken, fries and a drink, with the correct order after Paul shared an image of the sorry-looking sandwich on social media.

"I had gone to the drive-thru, so I had to go back and get it sorted," he said.

"Staff were quite apologetic in the end and there was no hassle when they replaced it with my original order.

"I got a new one and it was absolutely fine, but I was really surprised at first."
