Edinburgh crash on Braid Road: Police appeal for information after woman left with serious injuries

A cyclist was rushed to hospital with "serious injuries" after a crash on Braid Road in Edinburgh at around 11.20am on Sunday, 19 July.

Police are appealing for information to establish what caused the woman to come off her grey Apollo bicycle.

The 51-year-old was taken to Edinburgh's Royal Infirmary after the incident where she is being treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish exactly what happened but police do not believe the cyclist was hit by another vehicle.

Inspector Roger Park of Edinburgh Royal Infirmary said: "We are particularly keen to speak to a man who came to the cyclist's aid but then left without leaving his name or contact details.
