Edinburgh coronavirus figures latest: three new cases in Lothians as Scottish total rises to 227

Nicola Sturgeon has today announced that the number of deaths in Scotland due to coronavirus has raised to 3.

The latest Scottish Government figures that there are now 33 Covid-19 cases in Lothian, up from 30 yesterday.

The latest numbers of coronavirus cases in Scotland are published by the Scottish Government daily at 2pm.

Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has also announced that schools and nurseries will be closed - most likely at the end of this week.

She also shared that ICU capacity is doubling and staff from other medical areas are being trained in ICU skills to combat the growing number of cases.

People are now being urged to avoid any form of social gathering, with Prime Minister Boris Johnson urging people to work from home where possible and avoid pubs, bars and theatres.
