Edinburgh coronavirus cases plummet by thousands according to new study

Positive cases of coronavirus in Edinburgh have dropped by almost 3,000 in just one week, according to data from King College London.

The COVID Symptom Study app, run by science company ZOE with analysis provided by King’s College London, collects public health data to produce virus algorithms and contribute to coronavirus research.

According to analysis published today, there are an estimated 3,799 cases of Covid currently in the City of Edinburgh, which is a decrease of 2,529 from last week.

The graph published on Sunday 8 November shows a steep decrease in the number of cases in the capital over the last seven days.

The news comes as data by Imperial College London predicted that Edinburgh could be set to become an oasis of low Covid rates.
