Edinburgh cops race to 'disturbance' as two men rushed to hospital and two arrested

Edinburgh cops raced to a 'disturbance' in a flat on Lochend Road South last night which saw two hospitalised with serious injuries and another two arrested.

Police were alerted to the incident at around 10.20pm on Thursday night, June 17.

Two men, aged 51 and 46, were rushed to Edinburgh's Royal Infirmary with serious injuries, reports the Daily Record.

In a clip sent to the Daily Record, cops can be seen descending on the Lochend street late last night with at least four police cars dispatched to the scene and an ambulance, with one local adding that "a lot more police" turned up.

Police Scotland has confirmed that two men, aged 54 and 53, have now been arrested in connection with the incident and an investigation has been launched.

Cops remain at the scene on the incident this morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of two men being injured following a disturbance at a flat on Lochend Road South in Edinburgh shortly after 10.20pm on Thursday, 17 June.

"The men, aged 51 and 46, were taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment to serious injuries.

"Two men, 54 and 53, have been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing."
