Edinburgh Cocktail Week announce 2021 line up including crazy golf and champagne masterclass

Edinburgh Cocktail Week have announced their full programme for 2021 for the first festival in nearly two years.

The drinks event is set to make a huge comeback after being cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, and will feature more bars and experiences than ever.

Running from October 11 to October 24, there will be huge array of different drinks and events running all over the city centre as well as the iconic cocktail tent on Lothian Road.

According to organisers the festival will now see locals be able to play 'cocktail crazy golf' at Foreplay, take a 'cocktail cruise' along the Union Canal or try a gin tasting at One Square.

For those with a sophisticated palette, there will also be cocktail afternoon teas at the Waldorf Astoria, and even a 'Champagne Masterclass' at the Nor’ Loft Rooftop Lounge.

In addition, 100 bars across the capital will be taking part, with each creating their own signature cocktail for festivalgoers to enjoy.

As usual, those with a cocktail week wristband will be able to sample the drinks for £4, with bars such as the Voodoo Rooms and NQ64 taking part.

This year, organisers have also announced a range of ‘Prestige Cocktails’ - a new, higher price tier of tipples to enjoy from six of Edinburgh's most celebrated and award-winning bars including Superico 99, Panda & Sons, Nightcap, Hey Palu, The Waldorf Astoria and Nauticus.

Speaking about the upcoming events, Managing Director of Edinburgh Cocktail Week, Gary Anderson said:

“I’m delighted to announce all 100 Signature Cocktails and the full programme of events and experiences today. With the extension to two weeks and the continued easing of restrictions, 2021 is looking to be our biggest and best festival yet. And with most restrictions now lifted on hospitality, visitors can enjoy a close-to-normal festival experience in bars around the city and in the Cocktail Village.

"We are very much looking forward to welcoming everyone to our festival and seeing people coming together with their friends and family to enjoy a day out."
