Edinburgh city centre pub closes due to Covid case while 'all staff get tested'

A city centre bar has made the decision to temporarily close its doors after a member of staff tested positive for coronavirus.

The news comes after four restaurants in the city centre closed within 24 hours due to positive Covid cases.

Now, The Outhouse on Broughton Street Lane has been the latest to close its doors due to the virus, writing that they are cancelling all bookings made for the next few days.

The team added that Track and Trace are involved and that all staff will be tested for Covid.

The popular bar wrote on Facebook this afternoon: "Hey guys. Unfortunately one of our staff has tested positive for COVID-19, so to ensure the safety of all guests and staff, we have made the decision to close for a few days while we deep clean and test all staff members.

"Safety of customers and staff is our top priority. Once we have further information from track and trace and negative staff tests we’ll update as to when we can open again. Apologies for any inconvenience, we’ll try to contact all affected bookings. Stay safe - Team Outhouse."
