A 12-bedroom Edinburgh city centre guest house could be transformed into a residential property consisting of six flats.
The Hopetoun Guest House, on Hopetoun Crescent, has seen plans lodged to alter the interior of the building to replace it with six residential flats with larger bedrooms and implemented kitchens
The plans have been submitted to the City of Edinburgh Council whose planning team will no consider the same proposals that were granted four years ago.

The difference in plans shows how the four-storey building, near Leith Walk, will be altered without any demolition or change of use work, with the lower ground and second floor both containing two flats, and the ground and second floor containing one.
All six flats will contain one bedroom as well as a spacious kitchen and lounge area, as well as all the windows in the building being refurbished.
The location is perfect for those looking to move into the area being just a short walk from Leith and ten minutes from the city centre. The conclusion of the Trams to Newhaven project in Spring 2023 will also bring added value to the local area.
In 2018, the property, which is located next to another similar guest house, saw similar plans granted by the council although the work was never carried out. The planners have now returned with a second attempt to transform the historic building.
