Edinburgh city centre delays after bus reportedly 'collided with a bin lorry'

Traffic is facing delays in Edinburgh city centre this morning after a bus reportedly collided with a bin lorry.

Council-run Twitter account, Edin Travel News first reported a collision at Waverley Steps shortly after 8am.

A passerby said: "Bus collided with a bin lorry. The 31 bus was just at the lights by Register House and is currently still there."

The accident led to delays for commuters heading westbound on Princes Street this morning.

While the incident has now been cleared and all lanes have been reopened, traffic is still said to be queuing from Waterloo Place.

Lothian Buses have been contacted for comment.
