Edinburgh City Bypass traffic: A720 blocked after lorry jackknifes on busy carriageway

There are huge tailbacks on the Edinburgh City Bypass this morning after a lorry jackknifed, blocking a busy carriageway.

The lorry is blocking the way on the A720 heading eastbound, from A701 Straiton Road ( Straiton Junction, Straiton ) to Lasswade Road (Lasswade).

The road has been closed since shortly after 10am this morning and this is affecting traffic heading towards Dalkeith. A diversion is in place via Lasswade junction.

In the latest update from Traffic Scotland, the road was said to still be blocked shortly before 11am this morning with drivers warned of delays.

Live traffic cameras show major tailbacks as motorists are brought to a standstill.
