Edinburgh commuters are being warned to expect rush hour queues on the city bypass tonight after a broken down vehicle blocked a lane causing massive tailbacks.
Drivers are being warned to expect three mile queues on the A720 westbound with motorists tailing all the way back to Millerhill Junction.
A photo taken by Traffic Scotland shows commuters at a standstill and it is believed that traffic police are working to clear the incident.
In a statement, Traffic Scotland said: "Edinburgh City Bypass - lane one is blocked W/B after Gilmerton due to a breakdown. Queues are tailing back to the Millerhill junction. Live update."
