Bus crash Edinburgh: Travel chaos as Lothian bus crashes into building in Stockbridge horror smash

A Lothian bus has mounted a pavement at South East Circus place this morning causing road closures in the capital.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Police were called to South East Circus Place in the Stockbridge area at around 6.55am on 27 July following a crash involving a double-decker bus.

"The road is currently closed at the Howe Street junction.

"Officers remain on the scene."

Lothian buses said: "Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Howe Street, Circus Place and Kerr Street and are instead diverted via Henderson Row, Dundas Street and Heriot Row in both directions until further notice."

Dramatic pictures captured at the scene show Scottish Fire and Rescue vehicles well as an ambulance in attendance.
