Edinburgh's Christmas markets have been found to be the most popular in the UK, according to recent research.
Known for its spectacular backdrop of the castle, and situated right in the heart of the city centre, it seems that Edinburgh's attractions have taken the top spot.
In recent years, Christmas markets have begun popping up all over the UK, with ice skating rinks, mulled wine stands and craft stalls a common occurrence.
Although not the biggest in the country, it appears Edinburgh's markets are the most magical, with research carried out by Holidu showing the city coming in at first place.
Edinburgh even managed to beat top English markets such as the ones in Bath, and even the huge sprawling attraction that is London's Winter Wonderland.

The cities were ranked across a range of factors including search volume, Instagram hashtags, and the number of Christmas markets it hosts. For anyone considering visiting one of the festive cities, Holidu also found out the number of stalls in each and whether it has an ice rink.
Despite not ranking in the top three, even Glasgow made the list, with the markets to the west coming in at number eight.

It comes as the Edinburgh Christmas markets will look slightly different this year, with a new layout to see the festivities spread out across both the east and west sides of Princes Street Gardens.
