Edinburgh Christmas concert at Usher Hall featuring The Snowman and orchestra

Edinburgh’s Usher Hall announce legendary The Snowman will feature in this year’s Christmas concert.

The Royal Scottish National Orchestra has announced a series of shows featuring festive melodies from Raymond Brigg’s enchanting film The Snowman.

The film will be beamed onto a big screen, with an accompanying orchestra, the night promises to be a very special occasion.

Shows will also be on at venues in Aberdeen, Dundee and Glasgow from December 16 to 19.

The Edinburgh show will come to Usher Hall on Sunday December 19 and tickets will cost from £19 to £45.

The conductor will be Neil Ferris and there will also be performances from soloists Hugh Dennis and Patrick Barrett, Junior Chorus Director.

A spokesperson explained more: “The RSNO’s magical Christmas Concert returns! Don’t miss this family-friendly event packed full of your favourite festive melodies and Raymond Brigg’s enchanting film The Snowman.

“Shown on the big screen and accompanied by the Orchestra, the film will be narrated by our special star guest, Hugh Dennis from Outnumbered, and will feature the wonderful Walking in the Air.

“Always a special event, join the RSNO for this special feast of Christmas cheer!”
