Edinburgh child injured in horror bus crash that showers passengers in glass

Police are currently in attendance at a scene in Corstorphine after two buses collided.

Emergency services raced to the scene on St John's Road just after 2.15pm after reports of two large buses smashing into one another on the busy road.

Images taken at the scene has shown the Lothian Bus involved in the crash to have smashed almost all of the windows on one side, with broken glass covering the majority of seats.

Reports from eyewitnesses have stated that the buses involved were a service 12 from Lothian Buses, and a CityLink coach headed for Stirling.

It is yet unclear how the buses collided.

Edinburgh police have confirmed that there are so far no serious injuries from the collision, with one eyewitness stating the only visible injury was a child on board who had received a small cut lip from the glass.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are currently in attendance on St John’s Road, Edinburgh, following a report of a road crash involving two buses, which was reported around 2.15pm.

"There are no reported serious injuries.”
