Central Library on George IV Bridge in Edinburgh has partnered with Hey Girls in a bid to end period poverty, earning praise online after they posted a photo showing a display stacked with free tampons and pads on Facebook.
Hey Girls are a social enterprise with the aim of tackling the inequality surrounding the cost of menstruation products.
For every period product they sell, Hey Girls Donates a sanitary item to someone in need.
Edinburgh Central Library took to social media to announce the proud partnership, with a photograph of the free sanitary products on display.
They wrote: "We are very happy to be working with Hey Girls to offer free period products to anyone who needs them.
"You can pick up your free period products in the main lending library, in our teenage section or in public toilets. #EndPeriodPoverty"
The library was flooded with positive comments after posting the picture.
One person commented: "I am delighted and proud that the libraries have got on board with this incredibly important service."
While another person said: "Great to see this. Even better if you have these available in other libraries so others can benefit."
