Edinburgh Castle named as 'most haunted' place to visit in Scotland

An iconic Edinburgh landmark has been named as the 'most haunted place to visit in Scotland', just in time for Halloween.

Edinburgh Castle was awarded the spooky title this week after it managed to beat out a number of other eerie locations around the country.

It's no secret the capital has a dark and gruesome history, with many a battle taking place at the castle, and many have claimed to have 'seen a ghost' over the years.

Visited by thousands over the years, perhaps the most commonly told story is that of the Ghost Piper, said to be a young boy that haunts the tunnels after being made to map out the dark passageways, playing his instrument as he went.

Taking into account the number of haunted sightings made over the years, TripAdvisor reviews and even Instagram data, Stelrad announced this week that the castle is where you're most likely to spot something paranormal.
