Edinburgh cars clamped as police target abandoned and untaxed vehicles

Nine vehicles parked on Edinburgh's streets were either clamped or towed away as police crack down on abandoned and untaxed cars.

Leith community officers were out acting on complaints from members of the public, with five cars uplifted and a further four clamped. One driver was also charged with road traffic offences.

Edinburgh Police shared news of the activity, which was carried out in partnership with the DVLA and the City of Edinburgh Council, on social media on Thursday. They posted several images which show cars either being loaded onto the back of a truck, or fitted with clamps.
