An Edinburgh local has warned there is a car owners somewhere in the city with no idea their vehicle has been 'totalled' by another vehicle.
The woman captured an image of a grey car parked on the corner of Assembly Street in Leith, which appears badly damaged.
The local told Edinburgh Live how the car has been ‘abandoned’ at the spot since last Thursday (July 22) and the owner has not come back to get it since it was allegedly hit by large vehicle on Sunday morning. (July 24).
The eyewitness told Edinburgh Live: “The incident occurred around 9.15 am on Sunday but the car had been left there since at least Thursday.
“That's quite a busy corner despite it being no thoroughfare, there are lots of trucks turning for the businesses down there and it was just waiting to happen.

“You can see some construction behind the car which was started on Friday.
“But the barrier is right next to the car. It just shows so many people do not care where they park and these can be the consequences.”
According to the local, a note has been left on the car to make the owner aware of what has happened, but with heavy rain predicted in Edinburgh, there are fears it might wash away.
Edinburgh City Council commented that "they’re not aware of anything being reported."
They added that they do not remove damaged vehicles if there is no obstruction as it is 'up the owner of the vehicle to get their insurance involved and arrange an uplift to their local garage.'
