Edinburgh bypass crash causes early morning chaos on A720 with delays expected

Drivers in Edinburgh have been warned to expect morning delays on the city bypass after an RTC.

Congestion and long queues have quickly built up on the A720 following the incident, which is thought to have taken place at around 7.30am on Friday morning (November 5.)

It is not currently known how many vehicles were involved in the crash, however one lane has been restricted between the Baberton and Dreghorn junctions heading eastbound.

Traffic Scotland has warned motorists to "use caution on approach" until the accident is cleared by emergency services.

Live traffic images from the area has shown serious congestion on the bypass stretching back from the accident to the Calder junction heading eastbound.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.20am on Friday, 5 November, officers were called to a report of a road crash on the A720 eastbound near the Baberton junction.
