Edinburgh burger chain shortlisted for prestigious Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year award

An exceptional burger dining spot with three restaurants across Edinburgh has been shortlisted to represent Scotland in the Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year competition.

Promising "no frills, no gimmicks, just a lot of honest & generous portions of quality food, freshly made in-house", Bread Meats Bread is located at 92 Lothian Road, 7-9 North Bridge and on Fort Kinnard.

Offering ultimate comfort food, Bread Meats Bread is one of nine food businesses from across the UK to enter the contest's final stage to win the prestigious title - and a £100,000 prize.

Over the last month, Uber Eats users in different parts of the UK and Ireland were voting for their favourite food spots to determine the best dining venue in every region.

This is the first competition held by the popular food delivery company, with the overall winner of the award due to be announced in August.

Matthew Price, Uber Eats General Manager, said: "A huge congrats to all of our finalists, we were overwhelmed with the response from the public who voted in their hundreds of thousands. I can't wait to try some amazing food and meet the amazing independent restauranteurs behind the dishes."

Here is the list of all the finalists entering the final round:

  • Mr T's, North East
  • The Salad Project, London
  • Natty's Jerk Kitchen, South East
  • Burger and Sauce, Midlands + East Anglia
  • Chilli Daddy, South West
  • Bread Meats Bread, Scotland
  • Vegan Sandwich Co, Ireland
  • Love Pizza, Northern Ireland
  • Picnic, North West

Now, every finalist will have a chance to prepare its best dish and present it to the judging panel - including Prue Leith, restaurateur and TV host, and vegan chef Rachel Ama.

Aside from the grand title - the Restaurant of the Year - there will be a number of awards up for grabs, including the following:

  • Female Chef of the Year
  • Black-owned Restaurant
  • Sustainable Restaurant
  • Health-focused Restaurant
  • Community/Social Impact Restaurant
