Edinburgh brewery in bargain £1.50 beer giveaway to prevent stock going to waste

An Edinburgh taproom and beer garden are selling cheap pints in an attempt to use up beer before it goes off - as the city's level three status continues to ban the sale of alcohol in restaurants and pubs.

Bellfield Brewery in Leith usually charge £10.50 for a three pint container, but the discounted beer is being sold for £4.50 a container, so it's a real bargain.

They tweeted: "We have cask beer that needs to be drunk while it’s still fresh! It’s £1.50 per pint (Lawless IPA Cask), available in 3 pint cartons...until it’s gone!

"We’re open for pick ups 12-6 Thurs-Sun."

This weekend (14 November), Bellfield are also hosting a King of Feasts takeaway pop up residency, so you can also grab some food while you're picking up your beer.

King of Feasts is an Edinburgh-based food company run by chef Rob Casson, who makes indulgent fusion food like pork and kimchi Scotch eggs (£6), devilled chicken skewers (£8) and fried chicken with a chicken skin caesar salad and parmesan (£10).
