Edinburgh boyfriend arranges romantic bus stop proposal at place they first met

An Edinburgh couple who met five years ago at a bus stop in the city recently got engaged at the same site.

Lothian Buses shared the feel-good story on their social media channels after bride-to-be, Hannah was treated to the romantic proposal by fiancé Dominic at the same stop on Pilrig Street five years after they got chatting.

Hannah said that they hit it of on the number 11 bus but not before it took them both a while to speak to each other, with Dominic returning to the stop and decorating it with lights and a huge wreath before popping the question.

Lothian Buses also shared a heartwarming image of the happy couple after the proposal which received over 3,000 likes and nearly 300 comments in just a few hours.

They said: "Well, this has fair warmed our hearts this morning... We received a message last night from Hannah, who told us: “My boyfriend Dominic and I met five-and-a-half years ago at the bus stop on Pilrig Street. We took a long while to get the courage to talk to each other but..

"When we finally did, it was on the number 11 bus. Today he decorated the stop where we met & proposed. I said yes!” Huge congratulations to Hannah and Dominic from all at Team Lothian and thank you for sharing this lovely moment with us."

Users in the comments were delighted for Hannah and Dominic after seeing the incredibly romantic moment. One said: "Congratulations guys hope you have many more happy years a head of the both of you."

Another added: "Congratulations to you both. We had similar in 1975. Met at back off the bus. Married 42 years now."
